“Pick Up Pennsylvania” Kicks Off, Asks Residents To Safely Pick Up Litter

39 Lehigh Valley Public MediaDOYLESTOWN, Pa. (WLVT) — A statewide litter cleanup effort called “Pick Up Pennsylvania” kicked off today. The program is organized by Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful in partnership with groups like the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and PennDOT. “It’s a great way to get people out in the community to address this issue. There’s definitely been more litter from masks and gloves that people are discarding. Ultimately, those are left on our roadways, running into our storm drains and getting into our creeks and potentially the ocean,” Meghan Rogalus, watershed specialist for the Bucks County Conservation District, told PBS39.
