Fox 56 – WILKES-BARRE (WOLF) — The Citizens Litter crew cleans up heavily littered areas around the city every weekend, but because of the stay at home order, all they can do is watch it pile up.
“These neighborhoods, they are confronted with this garbage and it’s a horrible way to live,” said Greg Griffin, Citizens Litter crew manager.
Today, we found Griffin on the corner of Thompson and Ralph Streets in Wilkes-Barre, a hillside that is covered again in litter..
“This area here we just checked the other day and we were able to see mattresses and the 16 bags of garbage,” said Griffin.
Griffin is a retired member of the National Guard, now back on the front lines in a war against an enemy that can only see him.
“We’don’t know what’s inside the bags, there could be an infectious disease and materials,” said Griffin.
It is something that’s going beyond the Diamond City.
